pirates.jpg.gz (13-Jan-95 00:14, 128K)
A black-and-white scan of one of LEGO's small advertisements (as sometimes found inside sets) displaying Pirate sets available in 1995. The interesting feature (for me) is that there is an inset showing the grossly ahistorical mechanism used in set #6286 to allow the cannon to serve double duty (one gun serving both sides of the ship). Instead of a regular carriage with wheels, the gun is mounted on a sliding, rotating circular platform.

trucks.jpeg.gz (22-Jan-95 07:48, 53K)
A collection of LEGO vehicles--a tractor-trailer rig, a tow truck, a car, a crane with caterpillar treads, and some other trucks--all from a long-ago age of LEGO design. All the wheels are the 2x2-stud size, many sport smooth gray tires, and the trucks appear to have the old steering mechanism consisting of a stem that is turned by the 1x2 brick with the "LEGO" sign on top of the cab. There are no minifigures.
